NYSP: Assault, menacing and arson charges filed against Mohawk Valley resident following alleged incident in Lewis County

LOWVILLE- A Mohawk Valley resident is faced with a list of charges that stem from reports of an assault, which occurred this week in Lewis County, authorities say.

Joshua M. Doyle, 21, of Utica, NY was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the New York State Police (Lowville). Doyle is officially charged with one felony count of assault in the second-degree (w/intent to cause serious physical injury), along with one misdemeanor count each of menacing in the second-degree (w/a weapon) and arson in the fifth-degree (intentionally damaging property via fire and/or explosion).

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from an alleged assault, which was reported shortly after midnight Wednesday in the town of West Turin.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending.

An arrest status for Doyle was not available and there were no further details provided to report from the State Police.
