NYSP: Herkimer County resident charged for allegedly violating court order in Newport

NEWPORT- A local resident from Herkimer County is accused of violating a protection order over the weekend.

During the evening hours on Sunday, the New York State Police (Herkimer) arrested and charged Kyle M. Walrath, 27, of Newport, NY with one misdemeanor count of criminal contempt in the second-degree.

According to Troopers, this arrest stems from a protection order violation that reportedly occurred late that same afternoon in the town of Newport.

At press time, police said that Walrath’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.
