NYSP: Highway Superintendent Arrested following a Joint Investigation with NYS Inspector General's Office and Town of Lewis

LEWIS COUNTY- A local Highway Superintendent is faced with a felony accusation for reportedly keeping monetary payments, authorities say.

Lynn Frank Platt, 63, of West Leyden, NY was arrested Tuesday by the New York State Police (Lowville). Platt is officially charged with one felony count of corrupting the government in the fourth-degree.

According to an investigation via the New York State Police, the NYS Inspector General’s Office, and the Town of Lewis, it's alleged that Mr. Platt kept monetary payments in the amount of $2,366 that he received for scrap metal sales of property belonging to the Town of Lewis, during his tenure as the Highway Superintendent.

Mr. Platt was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lewis Court.
