Snowmobile Accident

OSCEOLA- A possible lawsuit is looming for both Lewis County and the town of Osceola stemming from a snowmobile accident on Tug Hill last winter.

This is according to the latest from WWNY-TV.

The accident in question occurred on February 26 on the Potter Road.

As we reported, Dean J. Beck, 49, of Spencerport, NY was heading south and wrecked his sled after failing to negotiate a sharp curve.

State Police said he was ejected and pronounced deceased on scene.

The latest reports suggest that his widow and estate are planning to sue over his death, with claims the trail wasn’t properly maintained or marked.

These claims are reportedly in the works against the state, the county and the town, citing damages – such as pain and suffering and loss of services.

A dollar amount has yet to be revealed.
