NYSP: Mohawk Valley area resident charged with criminal mischief, trespass and possessing controlled substance in Forestport

FORESTPORT- A resident from the Mohawk Valley region is faced with numerous charges stemming from an incident in Northern Oneida County, authorities say.

Shawn M. Prentice, 57, of Utica, NY was arrested Thursday morning by the New York State Police (Remsen). Prentice is formally charged with one misdemeanor count each of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree; criminal mischief (w/intent to damage property); and criminal trespass in the third-degree.

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from complaints filed in the town of Forestport.

At press time, police said that Prentice was issued with an appearance ticket.

There were no further details provided to report.
