ALBANY, NY- The Commander of the New York State Police Troop D Region has been re-assigned.
This development stems from the latest from Syrcasue.com. Maj. Robert J. Simpson was on the job less than twelve-months prior to this update.
Troop D encompasses our local listening area, including Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis and Oneida Counties.
A State Police spokesperson told reporters that there is an administrative investigation and could not comment further as to why Simpson has been re-assigned.
In the meantime, Capt. Jason Place has received the nod to fill in as the acting commander of Troop D, until a permanent candidate arises.
Simpson began his career with the State Police in 1994.
