Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Thursday, March 6, 2025

Published on March 06, 2025

Southern Tug Hill Sno Riders Trails March 2025

March has arrived and the snowmobiling season continues on across Central and Northern New York.

It is that time of year… despite an absolutely incredible snowmobiling season, now is the time when folks seriously need to start considering the fact that trail conditions can change on a day-to-day basis.

Temperatures have been well above freezing this week, mixed-in with widespread rainfall.

Compared to a couple of weeks ago, there is certainly a noticeable decrease in the snowpack, but there is still quite a bit of snow left to go (keep in mind, some cooler temperatures are predicted for this upcoming weekend).

Considering that this season has certainly been second to none, snowmobilers are certainly going to start noticing the spring like conditions on the trails.

Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates (you can also check in with your favorite snowmobile clubs for more in-depth details).

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails are open, but trails have become soft.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Riders are asked to stay off trails until colder weather (Gates have been CLOSED on trails C7B, C5K & C5A).

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Expect varying conditions.

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Expect varying and spring like conditions.

Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Groomers are parked until conditions improve.

Osceola Snowmobile Association: Expect varying trail conditions.

Ohio Ridge Riders: Ride while you can (expect mixed conditions)

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Reports indicate fair to good conditions.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails have been good, but beware of changing conditions.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Grooming is planned for Friday night.

Trackside Blazers: Grooming is expected to resume soon.

Turin Ridge Riders: Grooming will resume as soon as possible.

Valley Snow Travelers: Expect changing conditions.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
