REMSEN- A local resident is accused of driving while intoxicated by drugs and alcohol in Oneida County, authorities say.
On Sunday, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to complaints on State Route 365 in the town of Remsen after dispatchers received multiple complaints of a male driving a red colored Ford pick-up, who appeared to be intoxicated.
According to officials, deputies managed to locate a truck matching the description at the Northway Stop & Shop, where the alleged driver, Brandon J. Horstman (no age or current address provided), appeared to be under the influence.
Deputies soon managed to determine that Horstman was reportedly under the influence of both drugs and alcohol.
Horstman allegedly refused to comply with orders and tried fleeing the scene, but Deputies managed to place him under arrest without any further incident.
Horstman was formally charged with DWI (combination drugs and alcohol), resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, aggravated unlicensed operation, and several other traffic citations regarding the incident.
Brandon was held at the Oneida County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
Members of the New York State Police and Shufelt’s Towing assisted.
