ROME- No one was injured after a driver allegedly drove her vehicle towards a police officer.
On Saturday, Rome City Police received a request to send an officer to a self-storage facility at 1226 Floyd Avenue to respond to a situation there.
Upon arrival, police say a female driver, later identified as Kelsey J. Madore, 26, allegedly drove her vehicle towards the responding officer on purpose.
Fortunately, the officer managed to dodge the oncoming vehicle, though they were clipped by the passenger’s side mirror.
No injuries were reported and Madore was subsequently taken into custody.
During processing at Rome Police Department, Madore was charged with a felony count of attempted assault in the second-degree.
She was taken to Oneida County Centralized Arraignment to appear before a judge.
