The last capital project at Lewis County General Hospital was in 2007, when the Emergency and Radiology Departments were expanded and renovated.
The new surgical pavilion will begin scheduled procedures and surgeries on December 5.
The new facility includes three operating rooms and one procedure room.
24 new patient rooms, which have been modernized with private bathrooms, have also been constructed to help boost patient safety, satisfaction and to enhance infection prevention measures.

In its 90-year history, this project, for now, is the most comprehensive modernization of the Lewis County General Hospital facility.
While closing the ceremony, CEO Cayer revealed the hospital's maternity center will be re-opening in March, 2024. We expect more details to develop soon.
