TURIN- The latest extension of Hand in Hand Childcare opens Monday, October 5 at South Lewis Central School.
Known as the Falcon Childcare site, a special ribbon cutting ceremony was observed during the evening of October 1 to commemorate this new milestone.
The new center will provide high-quality, nurturing care and enrichment for community families.
A partnership between Hand in Hand Early Childhood Center and South Lewis-Central School made the new location possible, expanding childcare access for families throughout the district.
A $2.98 million Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) Catalyst Grant made the project possible, secured with assistance from the Lewis County Planning & Community Development Department.
This investment supported the development of the new childcare center and helped bring the project to completion alongside South Lewis’ most recent Capital Improvement Project investment.
The Development Authority of the North Country (DANC), serving as the region’s Local Development District (LDD), administered the grant under the standard 2% fee structure.
Hand in Hand Early Childhood Center extends heartfelt appreciation to the Northern Border Regional Commission for its significant investment, and to the Lewis County Planning & Community Development Department for its support in securing the Catalyst Grant.
The organization also recognizes DANC for administering the grant and South Lewis-Central School for its collaboration and commitment to expanding childcare access for local families.
