Driver accused of DWI registered .15% BAC in wake of Lowville motor vehicle crash

LOWVILLE- The driver charged in the wake of a Saturday afternoon motor vehicle crash Lowville, NY registered a BAC level nearly twice the legal limit, authorities report.

Emergency responders were called out sometime around 1:00 p.m. Saturday on Outer Stowe Street, near the Bardo Road intersection.

According to Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies who investigated the incident, Mary E. Burr, 45, of Lowville, NY allegedly showed signs of impairment before failing field sobriety tests.

Burr was arrested and taken in to the Public Safety Building, where she was processed and charged for DWI. It is reported that Burr registered a .15% BAC.

At press time, authorities said that Burr was released with appearance tickets.

All charges are returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.

Police did not describe the nature of the wreck.
