On Thursday, May 1, 2025, National Grid spokesperson Jared Paventi joined North Country News and discussed a proposed 20% rate increase, which would be phased in over the next three years starting this fall, if approved by the New York State Public Service Commission.
To help clarify, Paventi told us the rate increase would only apply only to customers who receive National Grid electricity and natural gas.
According to the National Grid service map for New York State, the vast majority of people who reside within our our Flack Broadcasting radio coverage area have access only to National Grid electricity (see map below):
