LOWVILLE- On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, village Mayor, Dan Salmon, joined North Country News and gave remarks concerning the mail delivery situation impacting local residents.
A few weeks ago, the word got out that several folks were not getting their mail on a daily basis.
Since, it appears that those delivery glitches have been smoothed out, but just a few days ago, a report blossomed from WWNY-TV and suggested union reps from the National Association of Letter Carriers are blaming staffing and retention issues.
Mayor Salmon spoke to us and hopes for more communication from the post office if something like this ever occurs again.
For context, we have reached out to the Lowville Post Office since last Friday and have yet to successfully make contact. We will update if that changes.
