State Police investigating wintertime theft of WWI Air Raid Alarm Horn in Forestport

ONEIDA COUNTY- The New York State Police is currently investigating the theft of a war artifact in the town of Forestport.

Sometime between the middle of January and the end of last Month, investigators say an original World War I British Klaxon Zeppelin Air Raid Alarm Horn, with a London address (circa 1908 – see image below), army green in color, was stolen from a property on Bridge Road.

State Troopers say the horn was attached to a wooden pillar at the home, but someone reportedly used a bladed device to cut out a piece of the pillar and then steal the historic artifact.

At press time, State Police said the suspect remains unknown.
