ON-AIR SEGMENT: Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente says move to prohibit fired CO's from any future government employment is an overreach of power by Governor Hochul

UTICA- On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. hosted a press conference to rebuke Governor Kathy Hochul's move to prohibit fired correctional officers, who are condemned in that context for failure to report back for duty by a state deadline to end their wildcat strike, from ever being able to work for any government agency in the state ever again.

There is talk that the Governor's move has also included county correctional facilities, but Sheriffs here in the North Country have been citing a recent increase in applications from former state correctional officers.

Be sure to listen to our on-air highlights from the press conference, which aired on Friday, March 14, 2025.
