Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Friday, March 14, 2025
March has arrived and it is starting to look like spring has as well.
It is that time of year… despite an absolutely incredible snowmobiling season, now is the time when folks seriously need to start considering the fact that trail conditions can change on a day-to-day basis.
In general, the Central New York and North Country regions lost a pretty significant chunk of snowpack since last weekend, especially amid extremely mild temperatures.
Warm temperatures are forecasted to return later in the week and especially this coming weekend.
If things pan out the way they currently appear, the National Weather Service says there will be wide-spread temperatures into the 60’s, with rain expected, too.
Despite the current, yet slowly deteriorating conditions, there is still some snow to ride on!
Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: A mix of spring like conditions reported.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails C7B, C5K and C5A are CLOSED. Some grooming reported.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Grooming is ceased; expect spring conditions.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Expect a mix of conditions.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Grooming has ceased until further notice.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Trails are open.
Ohio Ridge Riders: No updates since March 7.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Variable spring like conditions.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Expect spring like conditions.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Expect varying conditions.
Trackside Blazers: Be mindful of varying trail conditions.
Turin Ridge Riders: Mixed reports on Tug Hill; lower trails now CLOSED.
Valley Snow Travelers: No updates since March 9.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
