ALBANY, NY & WASHINGTON, D.C.- On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, South Lewis Central School Superintendent, Douglas Premo, joined North Country News and recapped a recent trip, where he and fellow North Country area school superintendents from the Jefferson-Lewis BOCES district met with federal and state lawmakers, advocated for education reforms.

"Great seeing some of our School Superintendents in Albany last week," said New York State Senator Mark Walczyk on February 9.

"Safe to say, they're not excited about electric buses - they'd much rather be focused on improving educational outcomes. Thank you for the frank and insightful conversation."
