One car accident near McKeever sends trio to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

MCKEEVER- A one car personal injury accident in the Western Adirondacks over the weekend sent three to a local hospital, authorities say.

It was at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when Town of Webb Police and Old Forge Fire Department/EMS were called out to reports of an accident along State Route 28, near McKeever.

According to Town of Webb Police Chief Ron Johnston, investigation has revealed that Zheyuan Zheng, 22, of Ithaca, NY was heading south and ended up striking numerous guiderails after exiting the roadway.

His vehicle went off the shoulder and crashed into a group of trees. At press time, police said Zheng was not paying attention to the roadway.

He and his two passengers were taken to a Utica hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

There were no charges listed by police and no additional details were available.
