WEBB- A man from the Western Adirondacks is faced with numerous offenses after leaving the scene of a property damage accident over the weekend in the town of Webb.
Kim R. Konecny, 67, of Old Forge, NY was officially charged Saturday by Town of Webb Police Department with counts of open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, speeds not reasonable or prudent, moving from a lane unsafely and unsafe/bald tires.
It was shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday when emergency responders were notified of an accident, involving one Ford pickup truck, on State Route 28, near Delaware Road intersection.
Members from Webb Police, Old Forge Fire and Old Forge Ambulance responded. Upon arrival, Chief of Police Ron Johnston reported that the truck had struck some large rocks and came to rest in a ditch after leaving the shoulder of the roadway.
A driver was not located on scene and it was determined that they had fled from the scene.
The next day, Konecny confessed to authorities that the truck was his and he wrecked after swerving to avoid a raccoon. Following processing, he was released on uniform traffic tickets, which are all returnable to Webb Town Court at a later date.
