One vehicle accident in Forestport under investigation, Deputies say

FORESTPORT- According to the office of Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on December 30th, 2023, at around 4:10 a.m., Road Patrol Deputies responded to O'brien Road in the Town of Forestport for a reported one car motor vehicle accident.

While Road Patrol Deputies investigated the crash, it was determined Allan L. Kotary, 69, of Rome, was operating a 1999 Chevy Suburban, northerly on O'brien Road when the vehicle Allan was operating exited the roadway and struck a tree off of the western shoulder of the roadway.

Kotary was not on scene upon first responders arrival and was later located at Rome Memorial Hospital for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries from the accident.

No tickets have been issued at this time as the crash remains under investigation as of this report.

Road Patrol Deputies were assisted on scene by Forestport Fire Department.
