Oneida County collision results in non-life threatening injures: Sheriff’s Office

FLOYD- A collision between two vehicles Tuesday evening in Oneida County resulted in non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities.

It was shortly before 7:30 p.m. when emergency responders were dispatched to the area of New Floyd and Middle Roads, town of Floyd.

9-1-1 dispatchers reported a MVA w/personal injuries involving two vehicles.

According to investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, Joshua Perry, 18, of Remsen, NY was driving a 2006 Toyota truck westbound on New Floyd Road. Police say he attempted a U-turn and was subsequently struck by a 2016 Chevy truck following behind.

The driver of the Chevy, Michael Canne, 66, of Syracuse, NY reportedly attempted to swerve out of the way, but was unsuccessful.

Officials say Perry and his passenger, Jacalyn Austin, 18, of Ogdensburg, NY were both taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for evaluation of “non-life threatening” injuries.

No injuries were reported for Canne, who was evaluated on scene.

Police say both Perry and Austin were issued with unspecified traffic tickets.
