Oneida County Democratic Committee Harris Walz Campaign Signs Thefts October 2024

ONEIDA COUNTY- The Oneida County Democratic Committee is condemning a spree of Harris – Walz campaign signs that have been tampered with and/or stolen recently, along with reports of property damage.

“I have been in contact with Sheriff Rob Maciol regarding this matter, and I want to remind everyone that altering, defacing, or stealing political signage is a criminal offense, and we urge everyone to respect the law,” said Mitchell Ford, Chairperson of the Oneida County Democratic Committee.

According to the committee, there have been reports funneling in from all over the county, where residents have been complaining that their Harris – Walz signs have either been tampered with or removed completely.

Additionally, there are committee members who are claiming instances of property damage at their homes.

With the Presidential election now less than a month away, a quick online search, regarding the theft and/or destruction of political signs, will yield similar headlines from around the country.

“While we all have the right to disagree with a person’s views, we do not have the right to steal or damage another person’s property,” the committee emphasized.

For those who may have had their campaign signs stolen and or tampered with, authorities suggest reviewing any surveillance footage sources and contacting your proper law enforcement agency.
