CROGHAN- A pair of juveniles are faced with charges filed in the wake of a single vehicle accident earlier this month in Lewis County, where the truck involved was stolen.
It was during the early morning of October 6 when the Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a single vehicle crash on Long Pond Road, town of Croghan.
At the time, the truck was unoccupied, but investigators soon discovered that it had been stolen from an address on State Route 812.
Weeks later, authorities have determined a pair of teenagers, both 16, who were not identified in police reports, to be responsible for both the theft and the crash.
One suspect was charged with felony grand larceny in the fourth-degree, along with a misdemeanor for endangering the welfare of a child. Meanwhile, the other teenage suspect was charged with a misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third-degree.
In addition, several traffic tickets were also issued.
Beller’s Auto assisted with the case.
There were no further details provided at press time.
