LOWVILLE- A pair of local teenagers are accused of obstructing governmental administration for refusal to follow orders.
On Friday, April 12, the Lowville Village Police Department responded to the Jack J. Boak Educational Center and were investigating a separate disturbance.
While looking into the other matter, it’s reported that a pair of 14-year-old teenagers, who both attend Adirondack Central School, refused to obey orders from staff members and the police to vacate the area and return inside the school.
According to Chief of Police Daryl R. Ortlieb, officers tried multiple times in getting the pair to obey orders, but instead they ended up charging them with obstruction of governmental administration in the second-degree.
In addition, one of the students was charged with resisting arrest.
Both teens were processed and released with appearance tickets, which are returnable to Lewis County Probation.
According to authorities, this investigation remains ongoing and more arrests are pending.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police assisted.
