WEST TURIN- A Lewis County resident is faced with charges in the wake of a sex abuse complaint involving a minor, authorities say.

Lewis S. Stanford Jr., 45, of Glenfield, NY was arrested last Thursday by the Sheriff's Office. Stanford Jr. is formally charged with two counts of sex abuse in the first-degree.

According to investigators, the arrest stems from a child abuse hotline call that was made in the town of West Turin.

It's alleged on numerous occasions that Stanford Jr. had made sexual contact with a 13-year-old teen.

Deputies report these incidents occurred while the minor was asleep.

Stanford Jr. was arraigned in Croghan Town CAP Court and released on his own recognizance.

Authorities issued an order of protection on behalf of the victim.
