ONEIDA COUNTY- The Utica, NY teenager charged in the Proctor High School shooting during a football game this fall is competent to stand trial.
This development is according to the latest from WKTV. Jahlil Chapman, who is now 17, will also be tried as an adult in court.
He is charged with shooting a security guard, Jeff Lynch, in the head back in September during a dispute at a football game.
Chapman appeared Tuesday in Oneida County Court concerning his mental health. Chapman has until December 5 to either accept or reject a plea offer.
Lynch survived the shooting and is still in the process of recovering.
