Reckless driving case in Jefferson County results in charges against North Country resident: STATE POLICE

WILNA- A reckless driving case in the North Country over the weekend has resulted in charges filed against a local resident.

State Troopers (Carthage) investigated a reckless driving incident that reportedly occurred Saturday evening in the town of Wilna.

Though an investigation was still pending at press time, authorities say William R. Gates, 43, of Carthage, NY is formally charged with one felony count of criminal mischief in the third-degree; and misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment in the second-degree, assault in the third-degree (w/intent to cause physical injury), criminal obstruction of breathing and/or blood circulation, and reckless driving.

Gates was issued with an appearance ticket.
