CONSTABLEVILLE- A registered level three sex offender is accused of trying to lure three juvenile boys into his vehicle in Southern Lewis County.
Dwayne Edwin Kirk, 58, of Boonville, NY was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday after deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle complaint last Wednesday in the village of Constableville, NY.
Investigation suggests that Kirk reportedly attempted to lure three juvenile boys to his vehicle for food or drink.
To entice them closer, police say he even went as far to throw money on the ground at the three boys.
Kirk then made a drive around the block before making another attempt at luring the juveniles into his vehicle, deputies allege.
As of this report, Kirk is formally charged for a misdemeanor count of stalking in the fourth-degree.
Following an arraignment in CAP Court, Kirk was released on his own recognizance. Orders of protection were issued on behalf of the victims.
According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services and Sex Offender Registry website, Kirk’s latest conviction includes a felony count of sex abuse in the first-degree (w/a child less than 11-years-old). That incident occurred in the summer of 2012.
He also has a previous felony conviction for criminal sex act in the second-degree.
