Remsen and Barneveld Firefighters respond to Star Hill Road garage fire Tuesday afternoon

ONEIDA COUNTY- Two local fire departments responded to the scene of a garage fire Tuesday afternoon in Oneida County, according to emergency authorities.

It happened shortly after 3:15 p.m. on Star Hill Road, town of Steuben. An exact address was not provided by fire officials.

Remsen was the primary Fire Department on scene, with Barneveld providing mutual aid. In addition, Holland Patent assisted with setting up a fill site at Shufelt’s.

The garage was approximately 24’ x 18’ in size, officials said.

Other agencies assisting included Star Ambulance, National Grid and Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

At press time, there were no details available regarding a possible cause or any potential injuries.
