REPORT: Murder suspect in Rome stabbing declines plea deal in court

ONEIDA COUNTY- The suspect in a fatal stabbing earlier this spring in the city of Rome, NY made an appearance Monday in court.

According to the latest reports from WKTV, Gregory Mignot Jr. rejected a guilty plea deal for murder, which would have carried a 22-years to life prison sentence.

As previously reported, Rome Police arrested Mignot earlier this spring after he was suspected of stabbing and killing Michael J. Brown.

The incident occurred in April.

Because Mignot Jr. rejected the plea offering, he now faces up to 25-years, if condemned by jurors.

He is due back in Court later on this summer.
