LOWVILLE- Investigators from the New York State Police reportedly have searched and removed certain documents from the Lowville Village Police Department.
This development is according to the latest from WWNY-TV. The search reportedly took place last Friday.
Details at this time are very limited, as officials cite that this is still an ongoing case.
An unidentified source familiar with the matter told reporters that investigators, who were equipped with a search warrant, were digging for proof of “misappropriation” of money.
It’s reported that Lewis County District Attorney Leanne Moser has recused herself from the situation, which means she will not be involved in any sort of way.
Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office will take on the case as a “special prosecutor.”
We plan on reaching out to officials for comment.
