WASHINGTON, D.C.- A $1.7 trillion bill to fund the U.S. Government through September is on its way to President Joe Biden’s desk, who has made it clear regarding his eagerness to sign it.

The measure highlights nearly $45-billion in assistance funding for Ukraine as they continue defending themselves from Russian aggression.

Our North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) says she opposes the spending bill; an effort she says is a “wish list” for “Lame Duck Democrats.” “One-party Democrat rule has failed hardworking Americans,” she said.

“Due to Democrats’ reckless spending and failed policies, every family is experiencing the most expensive Christmas in history, our southern border is in chaos, and energy costs are skyrocketing.”

The passing of this bill came in the wake of a visit to Washington, D.C. by Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who thanked the U.S. for their continued support as the war overseas nears its first-year.
