ONEIDA COUNTY- Local officials are reacting in disgust towards Governor Hochul and her administration after developments have surfaced that SUNY Poly will have its College of Nano-Science swept out from under their feet and moved to the University at Albany.
“This is just the latest insult by an administration in Albany that views the Mohawk Valley as 'fly over country,'” said Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente Jr.
"The brand-new 'Wolfspeed' fab, which will be one of the top semiconductor manufacturers in the world, just recently opened its doors in Marcy,” said State Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R-C-Black River).

“The facility will employ hundreds, and it only makes sense to keep the CNSE program in town to act as a pipeline for the Wolfspeed facility and to make sure the best young minds are leading us into the future.”
Lawmakers who represent the North Country say this will be among several other issues to address while negotiating through the state budget process.
County officials are strong advocates for having the college in the Mohawk Valley with so many enterprises that have developed nearby.
Stay tuned, we will air more from our state lawmakers soon.
