LOWVILLE- A woman from the Mohawk Valley region is accused of child endangerment after police investigation into an incident last fall, which occurred within a Lewis County establishment.

Ashley E. Stevens, 36, of Rome, NY was arrested on Monday by the Lowville Village Police. She is formally charged with one count each of endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the second-degree.

According to Chief of Police Daryl R. Ortlieb, the arrest stems from a reported disturbance in October, 2023 at the Lowville McDonald's, located on Utica Boulevard.

After reviewing security footage, police have determined that Stevens could allegedly be seen actively fighting with a 12-year-old child. Specifically, police say she tried to pull the child's hair and drag them to the ground.

Stevens was issued with an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.

Members of the New York State Police and Sheriff's Office assisted.
