
LEWIS COUNTY- The driver of a semi-truck was rescued and flown to a regional hospital after wrecking Monday morning in Southern Lewis County, authorities say.
It happened shortly after 10:30 a.m. on the Lyonsdale Road. Port Leyden and Lyons Falls Fire Departments were called to the scene.
The rig had tipped over and sheared a power pole, leaving the driver trapped inside.
However, emergency responders managed to cut the power and free the driver from the wreckage. The driver was airlifted from the scene.
As of this report, emergency officials did not include a list of injuries.
Members from the Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, New York State DEC and Groff Auto all assisted.
