FOR LEWIS AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES-* Severe Thunderstorm Warning f * Until 615 PM EDT. * At 453 PM EDT, a line of severe thunderstorms was located 12 miles southwest of Stony Point, or 12 miles west of Sandy Island Beach State Park, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Three Mile Bay, Turin, Montario Point, Lacona, Amboy Center, Bellwood, La Fargeville, Stony Point, Glen Park, and Copenhagen. This includes Interstate 81 between exits 33 and 52. Streams will rise this evening due to excess runoff, which may result in flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable, and basements may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 505 PM EDT, rain and snowmelt is occurring, and will cause flooding. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE... The New York Mesonet recorded a gust of 62 MPH in Fayetteville. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... FOR NORTHERN HERKIMER COUNTY-...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and/or snowmelt and/or ice jam continues to be possible. * WHERE...In eastern New York, Hamilton, Montgomery, Fulton, Herkimer, northern Saratoga, Warren, Washington Counties and in southern Vermont, Bennington and Windham Counties. * WHEN...Through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of rain are expected to produce 1 to 1.5 inches of rainfall this evening into Monday. The rainfall combined with significant snow melt from the snowpack in the southwest Adirondacks and the southern Greens may result in some flooding.
