Sheriff’s Office: Deputies investigate personal injury accident in Floyd

FLOYD- An accident with personal injuries Friday resulted in several tickets issued to one of the drivers involved.

It was shortly before 4:00 p.m. when the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and other responders were called out to reports of a two-car accident on Route 365, town of Floyd.

Investigation revealed that Jacqueline Burke, 56, of Rome, NY was heading east in a 2020 Nisan Rouge and collided with a westbound 2016 Chevy Cruze, driven by Paul Buzzell, 54, of Huntington, VT.

Responding EMS teams took Burke, Buzzell and another passenger to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for evaluation. At press time, police said none of their injuries appeared life threatening.

Deputies determined that Burke was at fault for the accident. She was issued with numerous (unspecified) uniform traffic tickets, all returnable to Floyd Town Court.

Floyd Fire Department; Kunkel and AmCare Ambulance all provided assistance.
