Lyons Falls and Port Leyden Mayors tell reporters that state investigators are looking into possible falsified business records

LYONS FALLS AND PORT LEYDEN- Lyons Falls Mayor Donna Dolhof and Port Leyden Mayor Shawn Smith have confirmed to reporters that state investigators are currently working to crack a case of potential falsified business records.

This development is according to the latest from WWNY-TV. It’s reported that one employee from each village has resigned since this has come to light.

Both Mayor Smith and Mayor Dolhof said the State DEC is looking over the readings taken at each village wastewater treatment plant. It’s reported that investigators are specifically trying to determine if any readings were taken over the past few months at all.

Both Mayors and the State DEC all said they will not comment further, as the investigation remains ongoing.
