CROGHAN- A juvenile sex investigation has resulted in the arrest of a local resident in Lewis County, authorities are reporting.

Matthew D. Lyndaker, 47, of Croghan, NY was arrested on Wednesday by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Lyndaker is formally charged with one felony count of rape in the second-degree and one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Investigators, Lyndaker allegedly had sexual intercourse with a child less than 15-years of age. The incident reportedly occurred in the town of Croghan in June, 2022.

Following processing at the Public Safety Building, Lyndaker was arraigned in Lewis County CAP Court and was held on $5,000 cash and/or $10,000 bond.
