CRASH: Driver and dogs escape vehicle before it burst into flames following collision with deer

ONEIDA COUNTY- A local resident suffered non-life threatening injuries in the wake of a collision with a deer early Thursday in Oneida County, authorities say.

It was shortly before 2:30 a.m. when emergency services were called out to State Route 8 in the town of Deerfield for a car v. deer collision.

According to investigation via the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Harry Snow, 39, of Cold Brook, NY was driving a red 2004 Toyota Tacoma when a deer entered the roadway, resulting in a collision.

Impact caused Snow to lose control, strike a road sign and end up in a ditch on the eastern shoulder. The vehicle caught fire, but police say that Snow and his dogs managed to escape.

Snow was transported to Wynn Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Poland Fire Department, Kuyahoora Ambulance, New York State Police and Nimey’s Towing.
