LEWIS COUNTY- The New York State DOT office is officially advising motorists of the new four-way stop at Potters Corners just south of Turin, NY.
For quite some time, the intersection was controlled with a blinking yellow light for traffic coming from the Boonville and Turin ends, while a blinking red light controlled traffic coming from Constableville and Lyons Falls.
The new four way stop took immediate effect upon installation and officials are warning drivers who frequently travel that corridor to adjust to the new traffic pattern.
The new four-way stop comes in the wake of two recent motor vehicle accidents at that intersection over this summer season, including one that had multiple fatalities.
The corner has had a dark history of other serious and fatal accidents in the past.
