State Police arrest, charge 18-year-old youthful offender for assault and criminal obstruction of breathing in Lewis County

HARRISBURG- An 18-year-old North Country resident is faced with a pair of charges that stem from an alleged domestic incident last Sunday in Lewis County, authorities say.

The suspect, who is from Watertown, NY, was formally charged Thursday afternoon by the New York State Police (Lowville) for one misdemeanor count each of assault in the third-degree and criminal obstruction of breathing.

A name or gender for the suspect were not available (juvenile/youthful offender status).

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from reports of a domestic incident in town of Harrisburg.

At press time, police said the suspect was issued with an appearance ticket and there were no further details provided.
