State Police charge Lewis County resident with two felony sex offense accusations

WATSON- A local resident from the North Country is faced with a pair of felony sex offense charges in Lewis County, according to authorities.

Ryan P. Murphy, 36, of Lowville, NY was arrested Thursday afternoon by the New York State Police (Lowville). Murphy is formally charged with two felony counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from a complaint filed in the town of Watson in February, 2023. At press time, police said an investigation was pending, with evidence.

Police said that Murphy was released on his own recognizance.

There were no further details provided.
