State Police charge North Country pair in Jefferson County weapon investigation

PAMELIA- A pair of North Country men are faced with felony accusations that stem from a weapon possession investigation in Jefferson County, authorities say.

Jacob T. Mono, 19, of Natural Bridge, NY and Billy J. Martin, 25, of Watertown, NY were both arrested over the weekend by the New York State Police (Watertown).

They are charged with one felony count of criminally possessing a weapon in the third-degree (defacing). Furthermore, Martin was also charged with felony criminally possessing a weapon in the third-degree (firearm; previous conviction), while Mono was charged with a misdemeanor count of criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree.

According to Troopers, these arrests stem from a town of Pamelia investigation from last summer.

At press time, the arrest status’ for Martin and Mono were listed as held.

In addition, police said an investigation is still pending, with evidence.
