State Police charge North Country resident for disobeying court order in Turin

TURIN- A North Country resident is accused of disobeying a court order in Lewis County.

Jeffery M. Smith, 38, of Adams, NY was arrested on Tuesday afternoon by the New York State Police (Lowville). Smith is formally charged with one misdemeanor count of criminal contempt in the second-degree (disobeying court order).

According to Troopers, the charge was issued stemming from a reported domestic incident in the town of Turin.

At press time, police said that Smith was released and an investigation was pending.

There were no further details provided.
