Suspect convicted of previously using unregistered social media account charged with violating New York’s Sex Offender Registry

DIANA- A North Country resident is accused of violating New York’s Sex Offender Registry in Lewis County. On Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Joseph R. Clement II, 33, of Harrisville, NY. It is alleged that Clement was using a Facebook profile under an alias that was not listed on his registry and has previously been convicted of this charge in the past.

Clement is formally charged with one felony count of violating New York’s Sex Offender Registry (second offense). Following an arraignment in Lewis County Court, authorities said that Clement was being held at the county jail on $10,000 cash bail.
