SARATOGA COUNTY- Craig Nelson Ross Jr., *46, is the suspect allegedly responsible in the abduction of Charlotte Sena, 9, over the weekend in Eastern New York.
Thankfully, she was found, safe, hidden inside of a cabinet and since had been reunited with her family.
Meanwhile, Ross Jr. faces a charge of kidnapping in the first-degree. Details in this case are still developing, but as of this report, State Police investigators confirm that Ross Jr.’s fingerprints were matched to a ransom note, which was found in the family’s mailbox early Monday.
Ross’ fingerprints were entered into the database for a 1999 DWI incident, authorities reported.
Investigators managed to identify an address where Ross still might still be associated with – a double-wide house, where his mother lived.
Police learned Ross lived in the camper out back, which is where he was taken into custody and Sena was rescued. "She appeared to be outwardly physically unharmed at the time," said Governor Kathy Hochul.
"But we'll leave the rest information about little Charlotte to her family at a time they deem appropriate."
Some 400 individuals, including from law enforcement agencies and other volunteers, worked together in finding Charlotte, who was taken from Moreau State Park after taking her bike around one of the loops.
She and her family were camping there for the weekend with some friends.
The Governor’s Office and the New York State Police would like to thank everyone who assisted.
