TRENTON- A resident from the Mohawk Valley area is accused of animal cruelty charges in Oneida County.
The Sheriff’s Office says they investigated a loose dog complaint Friday morning on the Whittaker Road in the town of Trenton.
Deputies say a dog was found to be suffering from what was described as severe dehydration. Police added the dog had apparently been left without any food, water or shelter and was visibly distressed when found.
Investigation led to the arrest Isidro Rosado (41) of Utica, NY on Sunday for one misdemeanor count each of animal abandonment and torture, injuring and/or failure to feed an animal.
Police allege that Rosado had abandoned his dog.
Member's from the Rome Humane Society, Deerfield Dog Warden and Anita's Steven's Swan Humane Society all assisted, along with good Samaritans who had stopped when the call came in.
