Suspect in Remsen domestic dispute allegedly drove truck from Boonville that did not belong to him: OCSO

REMSEN- A town of Remsen man has been arrested and charged following a physical domestic dispute that occurred this past week in Oneida County.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to the Prospect Road in the town of Remsen late Tuesday night for a report of a physical domestic in progress.

Subsequent to an investigation, Deputies determined that Trevor Burns, 24, had allegedly taken a truck not belonging to him from a separate residence in the Town of Boonville.

Burns then drove that truck to Prospect Road before then engaging in a physical dispute with one of the parties at the scene. Specifically, Deputies say Burns is accused of biting the victim's hand, resulting in a physical injury.

Deputies also determined that Burns was under the influence of drugs at said time of operating the motor vehicle, all while having a suspended driver's license.

On the date of the incident, Burns was charged with the following:

1-Count of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.

1-Count of Assault in the 3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

1-Count of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor.

The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges will likely be filed against Burns by the Sheriff's Office.

Burns also had pending charges out of the New York State Police stemming from a separate incident.

Burns was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing and was ultimately held at the Oneida County Jail pending arraignment in CAP Court.
